The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is the remake of the original Binding of Isaac game. It was designed by Edmund McMillen and produced and developed by Nicalis for Steam, PS4 and Playstation Vita, with possibilities of future Nintendo and Xbox console ports.
Much like the original, the game is a randomly developed action RPG with rogue-like elements, however with Rebirth the art (as well as the entire game) has been revamped and remake with a pixel art 16-bit style in mind. Made in a completely new shiny C++ based engine, Rebirth overcomes a lot of the downfalls from the original game, which suffered as it took the Flash engine to its limits. Rebirth brings back everything that the original game had and much much more, including 350+ new items, 10 playable characters, 100+ new enemies, over 50 bosses and tons of new secrets to find.
Here are just some of the features packed into this game:
As we begin to understand Rebirth more, this website aims to document as much information as possible, including but not limited to items, trinkets, tarot cards, mystic runes, secret seed codes, co-op characters, special synergies and much more. For more in-depth strategies and boss information, your best port of call is the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Wiki.
During its development, the creator Edmund McMillen posted weekly updates on the Binding of Isaac Rebirth dev blog, where he would tease a new piece of content each Monday night. It began with a few item reveals and slowly built up as the game was being made to show more content, ranging from music tracks to full on co-op gameplay videos.
